The Geography department provides a Bachelor of Science degree program. This program focuses on building expertise in physical geography, geospatial techniques, human-environment relationships, and enhancing mathematical and statistical abilities. Learners will gain proficiency in geotechnologies like GIS, Remote Sensing, and Cartography. The program encourages students to collaborate with advisors to create personalized study plans. Specialization areas include cultural geography, climate studies, urban planning, hydrology, ecosystem studies, sustainable development, and environmental equity. Regular meetings with academic advisors are strongly recommended each term.
Graduates will achieve the following competencies:

To be admitted to an undergraduate degree program as a regular freshman student, you must be a graduate from an approved or accredited high school. You must have a 3.0 weighted GPA in the academic core courses in order to be admitted to the University of Nevada, Reno.
Verification of having met the English requirement through one of the following options: TOEFL score 61+; IELTS (must be academic version) with a score of 6.0+; Duolingo English Exam score 95+; Cambridge score of B2+.
