This program enables students to merge their enthusiasm for global agricultural contributions with a robust grasp of market dynamics, trade principles, statistical analysis, and resource allocation strategies. By pursuing dual degrees in agriculture and economics, graduates will be equipped to make meaningful contributions in both public and private sectors at the intersection of these fields. Students aspiring to advance their studies in agricultural economics at the graduate level will find themselves thoroughly prepared. Through a partnership between the College of Business and the College of Agriculture, Biotechnology, and Natural Resources, students can uniquely earn both a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics within a standard four-year timeframe.
Industry leaders consistently emphasize workforce development priorities and the critical role of hands-on learning. Accordingly, all new students must complete a structured internship, independent research project, entrepreneurial endeavor, or study abroad program prior to graduation. These practical experiences provide our students with a significant career advantage and deepen their understanding of research applications for those pursuing academic paths.
