Psychology undergraduates in our department have numerous opportunities to engage with the field, ranging from diverse course offerings (primarily taught by PhD faculty) to hands-on research lab involvement and applied project work. We deliver comprehensive training that equips students for advanced studies or careers in psychology.
This program establishes a solid psychological knowledge base. The coursework functions as either a cornerstone for liberal arts education or a springboard for professions in medicine, law, business, human services, management, sales, and related fields.
Graduates will be equipped to:
understand core psychological concepts, theories, research findings, and historical developments.
recognize psychology's real-world applications and critically evaluate its connection to everyday life.
communicate effectively through writing and speech.
demonstrate cultural competence by acknowledging, comprehending, and valuing societal diversity.
To be admitted to an undergraduate degree program as a regular freshman student, you must be a graduate from an approved or accredited high school. You must have a 3.0 weighted GPA in the academic core courses in order to be admitted to the University of Nevada, Reno.
Verification of having met the English requirement through one of the following options: TOEFL score 61+; IELTS (must be academic version) with a score of 6.0+; Duolingo English Exam score 95+; Cambridge score of B2+.
