The International Affairs Program offers an interdisciplinary undergraduate degree that allows students to explore various academic fields across the University. This program enables students to cultivate specialized knowledge aligned with their personal interests, whether within a single discipline or through cross-disciplinary approaches. Participants can access diverse course selections from the College of Liberal Arts and other University Schools and Colleges. Those pursuing International Affairs with interests in environmental studies, geography, business, journalism, literature, economics, policy, or regional studies can integrate pertinent coursework into their academic plans. The program's flexible interdisciplinary structure helps students prepare for graduate studies and professional careers in our globally connected society. Students tailor their curriculum by selecting courses that align with their degree objectives and chosen specialization area.
The International Affairs major mandates completion of 33 credit hours, comprising 18 required credits and 15 specialization credits. Students may apply up to nine credits from a minor or second major toward their International Affairs requirements. Given the program's diverse options and study abroad opportunities, students should consult with advisors before registering each semester.

To be admitted to an undergraduate degree program as a regular freshman student, you must be a graduate from an approved or accredited high school. You must have a 3.0 weighted GPA in the academic core courses in order to be admitted to the University of Nevada, Reno.
Verification of having met the English requirement through one of the following options: TOEFL score 61+; IELTS (must be academic version) with a score of 6.0+; Duolingo English Exam score 95+; Cambridge score of B2+.
