The Art Department within the College of Liberal Arts provides a History of Art degree program. This curriculum explores diverse historical eras and subjects, with an emphasis on Western artistic traditions. The program mandates completion of 39 credit hours from designated courses.

Covered periods span Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Modern, and Contemporary art. Subject areas encompass modern propaganda studies, decorative arts, concepts of beauty and bodily representation, and the evolution of paleontological illustration.

Qualification Requirements

To be admitted to an undergraduate degree program as a regular freshman student, you must be a graduate from an approved or accredited high school. You must have a 3.0 weighted GPA in the academic core courses in order to be admitted to the University of Nevada, Reno.
