The History Department provides a Master of Arts program with specializations in these fields: United States, Europe, Modern Asia, Latin America (as a minor), Public History (as a minor), or comparative thematic studies (as a minor). This curriculum aims to expand students' comprehension of humanity's historical legacy while refining academic abilities and allowing focused study in particular historical disciplines or eras.
Program Objectives
After finishing the History M.A. program, graduates will be capable of:
Exhibiting comprehensive understanding of both content and historical interpretations within a primary field of study, whether defined by era, geographical area, or thematic focus like History and Memory.
Showing familiarity with scholarly works and their historical analysis in a secondary field of study, whether categorized by time period, region, or conceptual framework.
Recognizing how historians influence our perception of the past and how current circumstances affect historical interpretations.
Developing the skills to design independent research projects, locate relevant materials, analyze sources critically within existing scholarship, and produce substantial, logically structured, and well-written academic papers.
