The Doctor of Philosophy in Anthropology program merges rigorous academic coursework with personalized guidance tailored to each student's research interests. Participants obtain in-depth instruction in theoretical frameworks, modern research methodologies, study design and execution, along with proposal development. Following mastery of core anthropological theories and specialized knowledge relevant to their research topics, candidates collaborate closely with faculty to develop and conduct sophisticated research projects. Advanced doctoral students are urged to engage with the broader scholarly community by applying for funding, presenting findings at conferences, and contributing publications. These supplementary experiences equip graduates with the expertise and achievements needed to pursue academic and professional opportunities at global levels.

Qualification Requirements
Students entering with an approved M.A. will not be required to go through the department's M.A. program, but they may be required to take remedial courses in the case of deficiencies. A background in Anthropology is preferred among applicants.
The applicant must have at least a 3.50 (A=4.00) grade point average for previous graduate work.
Transcripts - One transcript from every post-secondary institution the applicant has attended (regardless of whether a degree or credential was earned), showing all coursework, extension and correspondence work, any degrees earned, and the dates that those degrees were awarded. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted as part of the application process. However, if an applicant is admitted, official transcripts will be required by the date specified on the Certificate of Admission. Transfer credits posted on another institution's transcript will not be accepted in lieu of the transcript itself. Only transcripts sent directly from the institution are considered official. Failure to disclose all coursework and/or degrees awarded will result in rescission of admission.
