The Bachelor of Arts in Mathematical Sciences offers significant flexibility, catering to students interested in diverse fields within Mathematical Sciences and statistics, including pure mathematics, computational mathematics, applied mathematics, and statistics.
This program mandates a one-semester course in foundational subjects: Real Analysis, Algebra, Differential Equations, and Statistics. To provide comprehensive knowledge, students must complete 12 additional 400-level courses from the Department of Mathematical Sciences (DMS). For specialized depth, two (2) year-long course sequences are required. Foundational freshman and sophomore-level courses, such as calculus and linear algebra, are also part of the curriculum. The DMS course requirements for this degree mirror those of the Bachelor of Science. However, the Bachelor of Science imposes stricter non-DMS course prerequisites compared to the Bachelor of Arts.
