The Bachelor of Arts in Film equips students with essential skills and understanding for securing entry-level roles in the film industry or advancing to graduate programs aligned with their career aspirations, whether in production, screenwriting, or academic film studies.
Program Objectives
After completing the Bachelor of Arts in Film, graduates will demonstrate the ability to:
Understand Film History. Recognize key influencers in global cinema and differentiate between various film genres, styles, national film traditions, and their production/distribution frameworks.
Master Cinematic Terminology. Articulate film language concepts encompassing all aspects of filmmaking: visual composition, camera work, editing techniques, sound design, performance, direction, narrative construction, documentary approaches, and critical film analysis.
Evaluate Narrative Structure. Assess and critique the fundamental components of cinematic storytelling, identifying both effective and problematic elements.
Conduct Film Research. Utilize research methodologies including library resources, online databases, and foreign language skills to perform discipline-specific investigations in their chosen cinema specialization.
