The degree program offers students two specialization paths: systems or management. The systems track caters to those interested in Cybersecurity from a technical computer science angle, emphasizing technological aspects like encryption, malware protection, secure software development, and information security theory.
The management track focuses on a Management Information Systems approach, concentrating on Cybersecurity policies and administration. This covers areas such as policy development and implementation, disaster recovery strategies, and essential business system protocols.
Participants in the program should leverage their prior education and background in either Computer Science or Management Information Systems, based on their chosen track.
The Master of Science program additionally presents two completion routes: thesis or capstone. Those inclined toward Cybersecurity research or considering doctoral studies are advised to opt for the thesis path. Students seeking hands-on training with career aspirations in Cybersecurity may prefer the capstone alternative.
