A Bachelor of Science in physics with an education specialization qualifies graduates to teach physics at the high school level. Some programs offer the opportunity to simultaneously complete degrees in both physics and secondary education. Physics explores the fundamental principles governing energy and matter. Studying physics cultivates strong analytical abilities that prove valuable across numerous fields, particularly those requiring quantitative analysis. Undergraduate programs focus on foundational knowledge, while specialization typically occurs during graduate studies. Approximately one-third of UNO's physics graduates pursue advanced degrees to become researchers or academics. Recognizing that most students enter the workforce immediately after graduation, our program offers adaptable coursework with multiple pathways to career readiness.
