The Chemistry Department, accredited by the American Chemical Society (ACS), provides both Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree programs. Students have three B.S. track options to select from. The standard Chemistry B.S. prepares majors for careers as industrial or government chemists, graduate studies in chemistry/biochemistry, or professional programs like medicine. The Medicinal Chemistry concentration B.S. caters to those pursuing health-related fields, life sciences graduate programs, or professional studies such as pharmacy or medical school. The Education concentration B.S. is tailored for future high school chemistry teachers or those aiming for advanced teaching roles while enhancing their instructional abilities during undergraduate studies. The B.A. program suits chemical technologists and pre-professional students focusing on disciplines outside health sciences.
