The Geography program provides both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees. Students can opt for specialized concentrations in geographic information systems or travel and tourism, with these courses fulfilling major requirements. A minimum of 29 credit hours in 3000-level or higher geography courses is required for the major, including those from the Geography Fundamentals and Diversity Requirements. The Department provides BA and BS degrees in Geography, along with concentrations in Geographic Information Systems and Travel & Tourism, plus a Geography Minor. UNO's geography curriculum equips students for professional paths in urban and environmental planning, GIS, cartography, remote sensing, and various geographic research fields.
