The Survey Research and Methodology (SRAM) program provides Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees along with a certificate option. These interdisciplinary programs cover diverse study areas such as cognitive survey studies, statistical analysis techniques, sampling methodologies, research design and administration, data gathering approaches, questionnaire development, evaluation procedures, and cross-cultural survey methods. Both master's and doctoral candidates can select from numerous specialization minors. The M.S. curriculum aims to deliver thorough training in survey techniques, preparing graduates for research and analytical roles across various industries including healthcare, education, media, government statistics, and opinion research. This two-year, non-thesis program incorporates practical experience through external internships. The Ph.D. track focuses on advanced research in data interpretation, social and cognitive aspects of surveys, instrument creation, error analysis, response rate challenges, data collection obstacles, and international comparative studies. Structured as a four-year program, it culminates in an original dissertation contributing to survey methodology. Ph.D. recipients typically pursue careers in academia, government agencies, corporate environments, and nonprofit organizations.
