The Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics (MEAM) graduate program delivers an extensive educational experience for both Master's and Doctoral candidates, supported by a faculty of 30+ members and 140+ graduate students tackling diverse challenges. The curriculum covers core disciplines including solid mechanics, fluid dynamics, thermal systems, mechanical vibrations, materials science, production technologies, and engineering design, with real-world applications spanning from medical robotics and rehabilitation systems to magnetic levitation and energy solutions, additive manufacturing and nanoscale fabrication, biomaterials and composite fibers, materials analysis and non-invasive testing, as well as computational modeling and materials design optimization.

GRE: Required. The GRE requirement is waived for those who have a degree from a US institution that is ABET-accredited. Note: Department recommends a minimum GRE score of 305 with Quantitative score of 155.
