The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures provides advanced degree programs focusing on German, French, and Spanish studies. Students can blend comprehensive literature courses with specialized seminars, cross-disciplinary studies in related fields, language training, and research opportunities. Graduate assistants develop teaching expertise through methodology workshops and close collaboration with faculty coordinators. The department organizes academic conferences and engages in university-wide initiatives including digital humanities projects, Latin American studies, and international exchange programs. With its multilingual environment, graduate students have opportunities to teach multiple languages and pursue in-depth study of secondary foreign literatures, potentially earning a second-language minor at the master's level or completing a Ph.D. thesis with a comparative international perspective.

Indicate whether you are applying for an assistantship and describe any previous teaching experience.
