The Human Dimensions specialization aims to enhance ecosystem and natural resource stewardship by examining and influencing human perceptions and actions regarding both natural and managed environments. Today's environmental professionals must grasp the human factor—our behaviors, perspectives, and requirements—and integrate these insights into conservation strategies. They often play key roles in mediating group collaborations, settling disputes, shaping policies, educating communities, and championing environmental causes. Through a balanced mix of natural resources and social science coursework, this specialization delivers comprehensive training centered on human-environment relationships.
