The department's academic work focuses on three interdisciplinary research themes: Health and Wellness, Community Involvement, and Personal and Social Identity. These initiatives aim to explore communication's role in (a) shaping individual health outcomes, encouraging healthy habits, distinguishing factors between positive and negative psychological effects, and assisting with relationship difficulties, (b) enabling community participation, resolving public disputes, and mobilizing for societal transformation, and (c) establishing, preserving, and questioning individual, group, and cultural identities in our multifaceted global society.
