Students earning this field endorsement become qualified to teach mathematics for grades 7-12. The College provides undergraduate programs resulting in a Bachelor of Science in Education and Human Sciences degree across over 40 distinct teaching endorsements. Certain University of Nebraska-Lincoln students from other colleges may pursue certification, obtaining their degree from their home college while fulfilling all teacher certification requirements through the College of Education and Human Sciences. The College's teacher education program is nationally recognized for its early field placements in both public and private schools. Although internships benefit many students' education, the College of Education and Human Sciences considers practicum experiences and student teaching fundamental components of its curriculum, requiring successful completion. Failure to complete these field experiences, regardless of reason, may negatively affect a candidate's admission status or continued enrollment in the teacher preparation program. Students facing challenges in completing field experiences may receive guidance to explore alternative pathways with greater potential for success. (Refer to the Criminal History Background Check Requirement and Professional and Ethical Behavior sections under OTHER for details regarding conduct affecting field experience participation.)
