Students earning this field endorsement become qualified to instruct all business, marketing, and information technology classes for grades 6-12. The College provides undergraduate programs resulting in a Bachelor of Science in Education and Human Sciences degree across over 40 distinct teaching specializations. Certain students from other UNL colleges opt to pursue certification, earning a degree from their primary college while fulfilling all teacher certification prerequisites through the College of Education and Human Sciences. The program's early classroom placements in public and private schools represent a nationally acclaimed feature of the College's teacher preparation. While internships benefit many students' learning, the College of Education and Human Sciences considers practicum experiences and student teaching fundamental components of its curriculum, requiring successful completion. Failure to complete these field components, for any reason, may negatively affect a candidate's admission or continued enrollment in the teacher preparation program. Students facing challenges with field requirements may receive guidance to explore alternative pathways better suited to their success. (Refer to Criminal History Background Check Requirement and Professional and Ethical Behavior for details regarding conduct affecting field participation.)
