The Modern Languages and Literatures Department provides instruction in Arabic, German, Japanese, Romance languages (French, Spanish), and Slavic languages (Czech, Russian). Classes are primarily taught in the target language whenever feasible. The curriculum focuses on developing reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills while fostering cultural understanding of each language's native countries. Throughout the academic year, students can attend lectures and view films in their language of study. Language labs provide additional support to complement classroom learning.
