The M.A. Program is designed to give students comprehensive mathematical training while allowing specialization in a chosen field. Graduates frequently pursue careers teaching at community colleges, enter industry positions, or continue their studies in mathematics or related disciplines through PhD programs. Specialization options include Algebra, Analysis, Applied Mathematics, Combinatorics & Optimization, Mathematics Education, and Topology. Applicants to the Master of Arts in Mathematics program should hold an undergraduate degree in mathematics or have completed equivalent coursework.

Qualification Requirements

To be considered for admission to the graduate program, an applicant must submit:
Completed on-line application form (see below), including non-refundable application fee.
Scores for the general GRE are not accepted as part of the application.
Three letters of recommendation, submitted by the writer via the Graduate School's online application process.
Official transcripts of all previous college work.
A Statement of Purpose.
Applicants for a Master's or a Ph.D. degree must have a Bachelor's degree by time of their enrollment. Note that a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics is not required though an extensive background in mathematics is expected.
For applicants whose native language is not English, the applicant must have a minimum TOEFL IBT (IBT Home Edition also accepted) 80, IELTS - 6.5
