The M.A. Program is designed to give students comprehensive mathematical training while allowing specialization in a chosen field. Graduates frequently pursue careers teaching at community colleges, enter industry positions, or continue to doctoral programs in mathematics or related disciplines. Specialization options include Algebra, Analysis, Applied Mathematics, Combinatorics & Optimization, Mathematics Education, and Topology. Applicants should hold an undergraduate mathematics degree or have completed equivalent coursework. The degree permits up to 10 research credit hours. For the non-thesis track, students must complete at least 2 research credits involving advanced material, concluding with an oral presentation.
