The medical laboratory science program equips you to become a certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), with our graduates being highly sought after by local hospitals and diagnostic laboratories.

This curriculum offers a solid foundation in scientific principles while emphasizing hands-on learning and research experiences. Students can select between two pathways - either a three-year (3plus1) or four-year (4plus1) course of study at UM - both incorporating practical training that prepares for professional success, including instruction on using sophisticated equipment and conducting as well as evaluating biomedical tests.

Qualification Requirements

To be considered for undergraduate admission to University of Montana, all international applicants must demonstrate English proficiency by submitting a score on an approved test or by qualifying for an exemption. To be eligible for admission, freshman students must have met/be on track to meet all upper/senior secondary school requirements with the equivalent of a 2.5 U.S. GPA to be automatically considered for admission to undergraduate programs.
