The School of Music provides talented students the chance to pursue advanced musical studies, whether for professional aspirations or personal enrichment, while also obtaining a well-rounded education. Comprehensive course sequences prepare students for careers as music educators in K-12 schools, composers, professionals in the music technology field, private instructors, performing artists, or those seeking extensive musical training within a liberal arts framework. All campus performances, lectures, and large assemblies are currently suspended or delayed indefinitely, affecting all academic department events including Montana Repertory Theatre productions, Montana Museum of Art and Culture exhibitions, and Montana Media Lab activities. Events adaptable to virtual formats may proceed online, while postponement options will be explored, though the timeline for resuming in-person gatherings remains unclear.
