Alongside the B.S. Ed., undergraduates can pursue a B.A. or B.S. in their chosen field before entering the Graduate School for Master's-level teaching credentials. The College of Education offers Teach in 12, an intensive one-year post-graduate certification program, alongside traditional certification routes. Certification graduate credits may count toward a Master's in Secondary Education with supplementary coursework. Prospective Master's-level teacher candidates should reach out to the College of Education's advising office (OASIS) at 314-516-5937. Important: DESE mandates a 3.0 GPA in both subject area and professional education courses, plus a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA for certification.
The biology B.S. program equips students for entry-level technical roles and advanced studies in life sciences. Degree candidates complete the same foundational courses and general education requirements as B.A. seekers, plus additional coursework emphasizing specialized knowledge, hands-on lab work, communication proficiency, and related scientific disciplines.
