The B.S./M.A. (or 2+3) program is an intensive track enabling students to earn both a Bachelor's and Master's in Economics within five years. This pathway permits students to count 12 graduate credits toward their undergraduate degree, decreasing the total credit requirement from the typical 150 (120 for B.S. plus 30 for M.A.) to just 138 hours.
The Master's program mandates 30 credit hours, with a minimum of 21 hours completed on campus.
Both degrees (B.S. and M.A.) are conferred upon fulfilling all program requirements, meaning students receive both diplomas at the same time upon graduation.
Participants who formally exit the dual degree program but satisfy all B.S. requirements will still receive their bachelor's degree.
Our economics graduates boast an impressive 94% employment rate within one year, distinguishing themselves through:
Practical preparation. Gain professional experience before graduation through internships and summer positions at leading institutions like Boeing, Edward Jones, and the Department of Agriculture.
Expert instruction. With small class sizes, economics students enjoy frequent opportunities to collaborate with accomplished faculty specializing in diverse areas including energy economics, environmental policy, international trade, monetary systems, labor markets, and econometrics.
Cost-effectiveness. Recognized as Missouri's most budget-friendly college, we provide numerous scholarships and financial aid options to support economics students in achieving their academic goals.
