A select few candidates are admitted into a dual-degree program that culminates in both a Master of Social Work and a PhD in Social Work. This curriculum is tailored for on-campus students whose career aspirations and prior background align with the objectives of both degrees while seeking an accelerated academic path. The combined program enables participants to interchange certain MSW and doctoral-level courses.
Completion of the dual degree typically spans eleven to twelve semesters, including summer terms. Review our sample academic roadmaps. The credit prerequisites, shared coursework, and program structure adhere to the standards set by the MU Graduate School and the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), the national accrediting organization for social work graduate programs.
