The School of Natural Resources provides a single graduate program in natural resources, featuring seven specialized tracks across various disciplines. These include water resources, agroforestry, human-nature interactions, fisheries and wildlife sciences, forestry, outdoor recreation and tourism, as well as soil, environmental and atmospheric studies.
The Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences specialization concentrates on managing resources at organism, population, or ecosystem levels. Our Master's program equips students for careers with government agencies, conservation groups, consulting firms, or research institutions. Prospective students interested in this specialization (covering limnology and conservation biology) should possess solid foundations in biological and physical sciences, such as biology, botany, zoology, ecology, physiology, and genetics. Coursework in plant classification, invertebrate biology, fish studies, bird science, and mammal research is strongly recommended, along with knowledge of chemistry, math, statistics, and physics.
