The School of Natural Resources provides a single graduate program in natural resources, featuring seven specialized focus areas across various disciplines. These include water resources, agroforestry, human-nature interactions, fisheries and wildlife sciences, forestry, outdoor recreation and tourism, as well as soil, environmental and atmospheric sciences.
Agroforestry, an agricultural approach combining crops and/or livestock with woody plants, has been a longstanding interdisciplinary research focus at the University of Missouri. This concentration leverages existing agroforestry partnerships within the School of Natural Resources (SNR) to create an academic pathway that appeals to exceptional graduate students locally, nationally, and globally. Students pursuing the agroforestry specialization can choose between thesis and non-thesis tracks.
