This degree program focuses on advancing performance abilities and musical expertise to equip graduates for careers in teaching or performance, or for pursuing doctoral studies.
Students gain performance experience through choral groups, opera workshops, and collaborative chamber ensembles. The Opera Workshop stages scenes each fall and a complete production every spring. In Spring 2015, Show-Me Opera performed Puccini's 'Suor Angelica' and 'Gianni Schicchi.' Recent productions have featured works like Robert Ward's 'The Crucible,' Mozart's 'Cos fan tutte' and 'The Magic Flute,' Rossini's 'La Cenerentola,' Lehar's 'The Merry Widow,' and Puccini's 'Gianni Schicchi' alongside Act II of 'La bohème.'
