Students who successfully finish this curriculum will qualify to earn both a Juris Doctor (JD) from the School of Law and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the Harry S Truman School of Government and Public Affairs. The combined program can typically be finished within four years, whereas separate completion would normally take three years for the JD and two years for the MPA.
Admission Process
Prospective students must apply separately to both the School of Law and the Harry S Truman School of Government and Public Affairs, including a written petition to enroll in the Dual Degree Program. Admission standards for both schools must be satisfied. For detailed admission criteria, please consult both the Truman School and the School of Law.
Applications and program requests should generally be submitted before significant progress is made in either degree. Nevertheless, the program will review applications from students who have advanced further in either degree path.
