The Geographic Information Science (GIS) Certificate at the University of Missouri is an interdisciplinary initiative that equips both undergraduate and graduate students with crucial theoretical knowledge, practical abilities, and technical expertise for spatial data analysis.

Open to all MU students, the certificate requires completion of coursework spanning: 1) Foundational classes, 2) Theoretical Breadth studies, 3) Technical Breadth and Application courses, and 4) a culminating Capstone Experience. These courses are offered through departments including Geography, Natural Resources, and Engineering.
The program follows distinct administrative procedures for undergraduate students versus those enrolled in Graduate studies.
