Students need to complete both mandatory and elective coursework.
A qualifying examination must be successfully passed.
Annual presentation of at least one institutional seminar is required.
A minimum of 72 graduate-level credit hours is mandatory, with 15 credits at the 8000-level (excluding research, problems, lab rotations, or seminars). Credit transfers require approval from both the student's doctoral committee and the MUII Curriculum Committee.
Completion of a comprehensive exam with written and oral components is necessary within a designated period.
Students must pass their comprehensive examination no later than 7 months before their planned defense date.
Submission and successful defense of an original research dissertation in an informatics field is required.
To demonstrate research advancement, students should aim to present at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals related to their informatics studies.
