The accelerated BS to MS program in Food and Hospitality Systems enables students to earn both bachelor's and master's degrees in just five years. Participants must choose the Food Science and Nutrition specialization within the MS program. Qualified candidates must finish a minimum of 90 credit hours (covering all general education and major requirements) while maintaining a 3.2 overall GPA (3.5 or above in FSN-specific courses). Every student will be paired with a graduate faculty advisor who provides guidance from their Provisional Graduate Student status (first year) through MS program completion. After reaching 120 credit hours, students receive their BS degree.
Program participants can take 12-15 graduate-level credits (7000 or 8000 level courses) during their provisional year, which apply toward both degrees. An additional 18 graduate credits are completed in the second year, totaling 30-33 graduate credits. A minimum of 15 credits must be at the 8000 level or above.
