The University of Missouri provides an extensive selection of composition courses, serving as a platform for collaboration among artists across different disciplines. It fosters community involvement in artistic creation and offers multiple venues for students to showcase their works both on and off campus. Mizzou stands out by providing complete four-year scholarships for undergraduate composition majors. Graduate students benefit from the New Music Ensemble, which exclusively performs pieces created by MU's student composers. Each year, the Sinquefield Composition Prize allows one selected student to present a large ensemble piece at the Chancellor's Arts Showcase. The composition program also features an annual Student Composers Concert and hosts a Composition Seminar for creative dialogue.
