This certificate program is tailored for active health and human services professionals, incorporating essential curriculum from our MPH degree offerings. Participants can enroll, access course materials, engage with instructors and peers, and fulfill all requirements remotely without visiting campus. As a component of the Public Health Practice specialization, the certificate equips public health practitioners and related professionals to address pressing public health challenges. Some students apply this knowledge to advance in their current roles, while others gain foundational public health understanding to explore potential MPH programs, using the Public Health Core Concept Certificate as a stepping stone.
The Public Health Certificate in Core Concepts (PHCert-CC) serves practicing health or human services professionals holding a bachelor's or graduate degree who seek to establish credentials in fundamental public health principles.
Other requirements to be completed before admission: Completed baccalaureate degree required. Strong writing skills, strong math and science grades, and related work experience preferred.
The preferred undergraduate GPA for admittance to the program is 3.00.
