The Master of Education (MEd) Plan C in Family Education enhances professionals' abilities to support individuals and families in improving their quality of life. This practitioner-focused graduate program, administered by the Department of Family Social Science (FSoS), equips licensed educators to deepen their expertise in family education while enabling non-licensed professionals to work with diverse age groups across multiple environments. Graduates qualify for roles as parent educators in Minnesota's Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) programs, as well as positions in healthcare, social services, and faith-based organizations nationwide and internationally. The curriculum emphasizes diversity and cultural awareness across all coursework, teaching practicums, and observational learning. Participants can complete requirements for parent educator licensure, parent education certification, or community learning certification within this degree program. Under faculty mentorship, students select a minimum of 30 semester credits from courses, independent research, internships, and specialized workshops.
