The MA is a customized degree program, developed collaboratively between you, the graduate studies director, and department faculty. Understanding that students enter with diverse personal and professional objectives, we help tailor your academic path to align with your aspirations. Our MA alumni have pursued careers in teaching, publishing, nonprofit organizations, corporate sectors, charitable foundations, and medical fields.
Program duration in credits: 30
Anyone who has or will obtain a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the U.S. or a comparable degree from an officially recognized college or university outside the U.S. may apply for graduate admission.
The preferred undergraduate GPA for admittance to the program is 3.50.
Other requirements to be completed before admission:
A minimum of four courses in English, three of which must be at the upper-division level, is required for degree program admission. The courses should be widely distributed.
English Language Proficiency Requirements: TOEFL iBT – Total Score: 105; IELTS Academic – Total Score: 7.5; Pearson Test of Academic English (PTE Academic) – Total Score: 59; Writing Subscore: 59; Reading Subscore: 59; Cambridge Assessment English (CAE) C1 Advanced – Total Score: 180; Writing Subscore: 180; Reading Subscore: 180.
