The University of Minnesota's College of Veterinary Medicine trains tomorrow's leaders in pet care, livestock health, and public health, along with research and academic fields. Students gain experience at one of the nation's biggest veterinary teaching hospitals and learn from distinguished experts in fields like disease control, genetic research, medical comparisons, bird of prey protection, community health, disease patterns, and livestock medicine. The accredited Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program spans four intensive years after completing three to four years of preparatory coursework. The College boasts cutting-edge resources such as the Veterinary Medical Center, Leatherdale Equine Center, Dairy Education Center, and The Raptor Center.
