The School of Music provides doctoral programs in composition, music education, musicology (including ethnomusicology), and music theory. Upon admission, students are required to complete diagnostic tests covering tonal and contemporary music theory, aural skills, and historical music studies. Any gaps in knowledge must be addressed within the initial academic year. Available specializations include Composition, Music Education (with an optional focus on Music Therapy), Musicology/Ethnomusicology, and Theory.
Program duration: 69 to 90 credits
Applicants must hold a master’s degree in an appropriate field of study.
The preferred undergraduate GPA for admittance to the program is 3.00.
