American studies is a cross-disciplinary program spanning multiple departments. The graduate faculty includes both core American studies professors and specialists from various other departments. Students create specialized research and teaching concentrations while also receiving comprehensive education in examining the historical and cultural forces that have influenced the nation and its varied societies, along with current cultural trends.
An undergraduate major in a field related to American Studies or other preparation acceptable to the American Studies admissions committee.

The application deadline is December 1 of the year prior to intended entry.
