Youth studies is an interdisciplinary field that equips students for both professional practice and academic pursuits. Professors engage in participatory action research and program assessments addressing youth-related concerns, initiatives, regulations, and support systems. The curriculum highlights community involvement for disadvantaged young individuals. Classes examine the daily experiences of adolescents, methods for supporting urban and underserved youth populations, along with worldwide viewpoints on youth participation in society. The program incorporates hands-on learning through community visits, program evaluations, service-learning opportunities, global exchanges, and professional internships. Learners benefit from culturally sensitive academic guidance and personalized mentoring from faculty, staff, or local mentors. Successful graduates may advance to postgraduate programs in social services, teaching, or government policy.
