The individually tailored interdepartmental major (IDIM) allows students to meet BA degree requirements through a customized interdisciplinary curriculum centered around a self-selected theme, developed with guidance from faculty advisors. Each IDIM program combines three or four specialized fields, carefully structured to create a thematically unified academic focus. With support from an IDIM advisor, students craft a detailed proposal and course plan that demonstrates a coherent interdisciplinary approach. These proposals require approval from a review committee and endorsement by three faculty members or department advisors representing the chosen concentration areas. Certain departments may provide specific guidelines for students incorporating their disciplines into IDIM programs.
