Computer science focuses on examining both the physical components and programming elements of advanced computing systems, along with their underlying theories. It also explores how these systems can address diverse challenges across scientific, technical, and commercial domains. The academic program provides learners with core knowledge in computer science. Following essential introductory coursework, students can tailor their studies by selecting specialized tracks within the discipline. This educational path equips graduates for various careers in industry, government, and corporate sectors related to computing technology, or for pursuing advanced academic studies in the field.
Student are required to have a high school graduation
A GPA above 2.0 is preferred for the following: 3.20 already admitted to the degree-granting college; 3.20 transferring from another University of Minnesota college; 3.20 transferring from outside the University
English Language Proficiency Requirements: TOEFL iBT – 79; IELTS Academic – 6.5; Pearson Test of Academic English (PTE Academic) – 59; Cambridge Assessment English (CAE) C1 Advanced – 180.
Application Deadline for Fall: For freshmen international students the deadlines are November 1 (early action 1 deadline), December 1 (early action 2 deadline) and January 1 (regular deadline)
