Students conceive, develop, evaluate, and implement physical computing systems that engage with both natural and social environments. They explore robotics and its societal role, integrating knowledge from diverse engineering disciplines such as computer science, mechanical design, AI, machine vision, electrical systems, automation technologies, human-machine interfaces, and biomedical applications. Our curriculum enables students to synthesize insights from these areas and implement them in constructing robotic devices and associated technologies. Michigan Robotics provides both Master's and Doctoral programs. These share foundational coursework, with PhD candidates additionally conducting original research published in top robotics publications.
