Students conceive, develop, evaluate, and implement physical computing systems that engage with both natural and social environments. They explore robotics and its societal impact, integrating knowledge from diverse engineering disciplines such as computer science, mechanical design, AI, visual computing, electrical systems, automation technologies, human-machine interfaces, and biomedical applications. Learners synthesize insights from these areas to construct robotic devices and associated technologies. Michigan Robotics provides both Master's and doctoral programs, sharing foundational coursework while PhD candidates additionally conduct pioneering research published in top robotics publications.
