This program prepares students pursuing careers in corporate law or trial practice by combining expertise in natural resources and environmental issues with essential legal skills. Offered in collaboration with the University of Michigan Law School, it leads to dual degrees: a Master of Science (MS) in Natural Resources and Environment and a Juris Doctor (JD). Graduates pursue diverse career paths, including roles such as a U.S. Department of the Interior attorney overseeing environmental compliance, in-house counsel for major energy corporations, or leadership positions in state environmental agencies. The JD/MS program particularly appeals to those aiming to represent resource-intensive businesses or engage in litigation requiring ecological expert testimony.
