The Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering program is designed for students seeking to deepen their expertise in specific areas of the field. Earning this graduate degree requires a modest time commitment but opens doors to enhanced career prospects and substantially increased earning potential. While the MS (Master of Science) and MSE (Master of Science in Engineering) designations differ slightly, they share identical academic requirements. Engineering undergraduates may choose either option, whereas non-engineering bachelor's holders qualify only for the MS program. Current research initiatives in computer vision focus on tackling fundamental challenges, particularly in analyzing and modeling visual data from both still images and video footage. Key research objectives involve: i) interpreting the meaning of materials, objects, and activities within visual contexts, ii) developing models for spatial arrangements and temporal dynamics of scenes. These computational advances support the creation of intelligent systems capable of real-world visual applications like self-guided navigation, monitoring systems, and intelligent media organization.
