Applied electromagnetics (EM) is crucial across diverse fields including wireless technology, environmental science, biomedical applications, transportation systems, and beyond. Researchers and students explore various dimensions of applied EM, spanning Microwave and Millimeter-Wave Circuits, MEMS Circuits, Antenna Design, Wireless Wave Propagation Analysis, Scattering Phenomena, Computational Electromagnetics, Microwave Remote Sensing (both active and passive), Plasma Electrodynamics, and EM Metamaterials. These investigations are conducted within the renowned Radiation Laboratory (Radlab). With roots tracing back to the post-World War II era, the Radlab maintains its position as a premier RF and electromagnetics research hub, combining theoretical expertise with experimental capabilities, comprehensive lab infrastructure, and robust academic programs. The facility boasts cutting-edge instrumentation such as microwave/mm-wave testing equipment, anechoic chambers, antenna measurement systems (near-field and far-field), EMC/EMI testing setups, microwave fabrication capabilities, polarimetric radar systems (0.1-210 GHz range), and extensive computational resources.
